2017 Summer Camp Details

Troop 26 will attend Summer Camp this year at the Hale Scout Reservation near Talihina, OK

Registration Cost: $300 for scouts
Deposits: A deposit of $50 is required to secure your spot at summer camp.  Scouts should be making regular payments to cover the cost of summer camp.  Visit the Fundraiser page (in the Members section) to learn more about money earning opportunities to earn funds for Summer Camp.  Payments can be made to Jim Gonders at any time during Monday night meetings.
Location: Camp Tom Hale, Talihina, Ok
Setup Date: Saturday, June 17th
Early Setup Details: Scouts who have attended already attended a summer camp with Troop 26 are invited to join the troop on Saturday, June 17th to assist in setting up camp one day in advance of the start of summer camp.  To participate in setup, scouts must gain approval from Bill Shaffer and John Forunet prior to participation.  Contact Bill to make arrangements to participate in this special opportunity.The setup team will depart on Saturday morning, stopping in McAlester, OK on the way for lunch.  Scouts participating in Saturday setup should expect a long, rewarding day of hard work.  Extra money for lunch and dinner will be required.
 Course Registration:  Scouts should get signed up for courses ASAP!  Courses will fill up and the sooner scouts register, the better chance they have of getting to participate in the courses in which they have the most interest.  See Dick Shelton at Monday’s meeting to get signed up right away.
Medical Forms: All summer camp attendees (scouts and adults) must have updated medical forms.  This requires a visit to your primary care physician for a physical.  This needs to be completed no later than April 30th.  Submit all medical forms to Dennis Keilbarth.
Prescriptions: Scouts who require prescriptions must provide the prescriptions to Dr. Frank Parks in advance of summer camp.  Prescriptions must be in their original container with the scout name clearly marked on the bottle.  Dr. Parks cannot legally accept medication in unmarked containers.

Adult Training: All adults planning to attend summer camp must be current in their Youth Protection Training.  Please make sure that your certification is on file with Christopher Smith.
Swim Check: All scouts and adults need to do a swim check before summer camp.  Swim checks will be scheduled several weeks ahead of summer camp.
