Training for Scouts

Troop 26 has a host of training programs available for scouts.  In addition to the many merit badge courses taught by both our LC and ASMs, Troop 26 offers troop-developed leadership courses and encourages scouts to participate in leadership and other training opportunities provided by the Indian Nations Council, the Boy Scouts of America, and other organizations as deemed appropriate.

Leadership Training

Visit the White Stag Leadership Training page for information on this Troop 26 training program designed for younger scouts.

Troop 26 encourages scouts to participate in Pine Tree training.  Pine Tree training courses are typically scheduled for Memorial Day and Fall Break weekends.  Scouts must be 13 years old and First Class or higher.  Contact Bill Shaffer if you would like to participate in this excellent leadership training opportunity.  Visit the council Pine Tree page to learn more about this program.

The National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) program is another leadership training program available to Troop 26 scouts.  To learn more about NYLT, visit the council’s NYLT page.
