Medical Information

All participants MUST have updated and completed medical forms turned in before summer camp. If your latest medical forms expire before or during summer camp, you will be turned away at the gate.

Medications must be turned in by June 2nd. See the above download for more details.

Swim Checks

Scouts and Adults who wish to participate in any water activities, including swimming in the lake or pool, or going to the Float Trip must participate in the Swim Checks happening leading up to Summer Camp. More information will be released at a later time.

Equipment

Below is a recommended gear list by the troop for a week at summer camp.

Ensure that you bring proper Class A and B uniforms. This is a Scouting Activity and proper dress is required.
Aerosolized bug spray and sunscreen are prohibited on camping excursions, including Summer Camp.
Bringing any extraneous electronics, including cell phones and game devices, is not recommended.
Closed-toe and closed-heel shoes are the only allowed footwear for camping and swimmming. Your feet must be protected when swimming or boating in the lake. Crocs do not count as protection.
Ticks and other bugs will be an issue; bring DEET-based bug spray, but not 100% DEET.

Permethrin Soak Clothing Treatment

Never take anything to camp that you are not willing to lose. All equipment should have the scout’s name on it. Even the socks.

Money

Pay for summer camp via your scout’s online portal. Any additional money for classes (I.E., Materials for Camp activities) must be paid before camp.
All cash spending money must be in a sealed envelope with your scout’s name and patrol, and given to Mr. Gonders by June 2nd. Please keep cash in small denominations (1 and 5-dollar bills). ~80-100 dollars is a good estimate for the trading post.

Transportation and Scheduling

Double verify who is delivering and picking up the scout to and from summer camp. Ensure that the designated transportation is on time.

Check-in is at 1:00 pm on June 15th.
Check-out is at 9:00 am on June 21st

Adult drivers should bring full-coverage shoes for stable walking on gravel, dirt, and hilly terrain, should their scout wish to show off their campsite.

Mail

A little mail goes a long way. Letters and care packages provide a connection back home, even if the scout is only gone for a week, it is still a week away from home, from family. Every bit of mail is a bit of support for your scout, however, their week is going. Be sure to send mail early to ensure that it arrives on time.
